Curbing Unhealthy Office Habits

Most of our days in the office have us sitting behind a desk and staring at a computer screen, and the occasional stress and demands of the workplace may eventually affect our work and physical health.
Here are some ways on how you can break some of your unhealthy bad habits:
Messy Desk
Your desk, phone, and computer are prone to contain germs, somake it a habit to clean your workspace with antibacterial wipes at least once a week. Also, organize your desk in a way that minimizes strain on your body and keeps everything in its place.
Poor Posture
Simply adjust your chair height so that your feet are flat on the floor and your knees are at a 90-degree angle. Adjust your computer screen so that your eyes are even with the top edge, and angle the screen so it’s tilted slightly upward toward your eyes.
Staying Put
It’s best that you not stay still for an extended period of time, since this causes your body and mind to fall asleep. At least once every hour, get up for a walk or stretch to wake you up and get the blood flowing through your body and brain.
Eating at Your Desk
Being diligent about eating lunch and healthy snacks is a good step in reshaping your eating habits at work. Lunchtime is a chance to give yourself a mental break, but if you don’t keep your workspace clean, you could be sharing your meal with the germs on your desk.
Long Work Days
Keeping a healthy balance between your work and home life is essential to keep you energized and productive. Try to limit your work hours and set boundaries between home and the office. For example, don’t take work calls after hours to ensure your leisure time will be fun fulfilling enough to take your mind off your busy day.
