Helpful Travel Hacks (Part 2)

You see a lot of things happening at the airport: tearful goodbyes, joyful reunions, even declarations of love and proposals; but not everything is like the movies. In the first part of this series, we shared some tips on how to gear up for your vacation. This time, here are some helpful hacks for when you're already at the airport.

At the airport...

Save your spot.

Take advantage of online check-ins to avoid long lines at the airport. Not only does this keep others from getting the seat you want, but it also prevents airlines from kicking you out if they’ve overbooked your flight.

Stay connected at low costs.

Posting about your trip on Facebook and Instagram need not be expensive. As an alternative, you can rent pocket Wi-Fi devices. You can even opt to buy a new sim card once you arrive at the airport of your country of destination as it can cost less.

Check your baggage before boarding.

Yes, you can actually ask the airline ground personnel if your check-in luggage has already been carried on board the plane before you fly. This is to prevent baggage loss or delay.

Airports offer many essential items for your trip, but they don’t offer travel insurance. Not to worry, though, because you can now get your Safe Trip Comprehensive Travel Insurance at the SM Customer Service and Business Centers in 61 SM malls nationwide! Get covered starting at P199 for domestic trips and P449 for worldwide trips.

Stay tuned for the third part of this four-part travel hacks series!
