Cargo ClaimsI. GENERAL PROCEDURES For all types of Cargo policies, the following procedures shall apply. 1. Immediately send notice to us or to your broker/agent. 2. You will then receive an acknowledgement letter from us indicating our course of action, e.g., appoint an adjuster/surveyor to evaluate the claim. 3. Submit the claim documents as listed below. 4. If the claim is substantial and/or complex, we will appoint an independent adjuster/surveyor to handle the investigation of the claim. The adjuster/surveyor will shortly get in touch with you for inspection of the insured property and verification of the related incident. 5. As soon as investigation/evaluation of the claim is completed, you will be notified of our Company's position, i.e. offer of specific amount as settlement with accompanying computations/breakdown (if necessary), or denial, if the claim is not within the coverage of the policy. 6. If you agree with the offer, send back to us the Notice of Claims Settlement with your signature/conforme. So as to minimize delay in our receipt of your acceptance of our offer, we advise you to send it via fax or personal delivery. II. LIST OF DOCUMENTS You are required to submit the following documents in order to facilitate the processing and settlement of your claim: 1. Formal claim letter against Pioneer Insurance, indicating the amount of the claim. 2. Received copy of the formal claim letter against third parties (i.e. shipowner or representative, arrastre contractor, terminal or warehouse operator, and forwarder broker 3. Bad order certificate (if any) 4. Short delivery/short landed certificate (if any) 5. Original commercial invoice indicating the description of the cargo and its value per item to prove ownership of the cargo. 6. Original packing list indicating the description of the cargo and the manner of packing. 7. Original bill of lading or airwaybill 8. Original Marine Cargo Policy or Risk Note 9. Original Brokers Delivery Receipt 10. Marine Protest (if applicable) 11. Repair Estimate (if applicable) |
