Pioneer Foundation

Pioneer Foundation, Inc.
Pioneer's social responsibility is rooted in the belief of giving back to society the benefits of its business. Over the years, Pioneer has made efforts to organize and participate in socially relevant projects, sustaining its commitment "to be there" for national development. And this commitment was concretized with the establishment of the Pioneer Foundation on Pioneer's 40th anniversary.

Employee Outreach
Through the Foundation's education assistance program, Pioneer has helped shape the future of its employees' children. The Foundation's first project, the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), continues to grant loans to its employees for their children's education. Another endeavor, the Tulong Pang Dunong (TUPAD), awards ten scholarship grants yearly to qualified children of its employees.

Upholding Education
Extending its commitment beyond company boundaries, Pioneer has been involved in a number of projects for the Filipino community:
* The establishment and maintenance of a professional chair at the University of the Philippines;
* Financial assistance for the expansion of the school facilities of the Immaculate Concepcion Academy in Manila and the Lanao Chung Hua School in Iligan;
* Financial assistance to the Insurance Institute for Asia & the Pacific;
* The donation to the Ang Bahay ng Alumni of the University of the Philippines.
* A tie-up with the Museo Pambata to celebrate Pioneer's 50th anniversary.

Supporting the Public Sector

Responding to the government's call for private sector assistance, Pioneer helped sponsor the Metro Manila Commission's Pook BatayanProject. The project was one of the earlier efforts initiated to address traffic management concerns. This was succeeded by Project EDSA, which focused traffic management efforts on one of Metro Manila's major highways: the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue.

Promoting Filipino Culture

Pioneer Foundation has been an advocate of Philippine arts and culture, striving to promote what is Filipino to local and international communities. Publications have highlighted Philippine themes and corporate gifts showcase the country's finest crafts. Pioneer was also involved in the production of two cd's to preserve previously unrecorded Philippine music from the late 19th and early 20th century.
